Tranexamic acid (tranexamic acid) is a white crystal derived from the amino acid lysine as a synthetic amino acid. Tranexamic acid is a powerful antioxidant and is used as a melasma suppressant. Tranexamic acid inhibits the production of melasma by inhibiting the production of prostagladins that stimulate tyrosinase. When applied to the skin, it has about 60-70% of melasma-improving effect.
